While we firmly believe that nobody’s style is complete until they have the perfect pair of glasses, there’s no denying the benefits and convenience offered by modern contact lenses. Contact lenses provide full-time vision correction, and they don’t alter your appearance (unless you wear cosmetic lenses).
For millions of Americans, contact lenses are the perfect vision correction solution.
Contact lenses rest on a thin layer of tear-film directly on top of the cornea. In fact, they’re one of the most intimate medical appliances you will wear. It’s important that the lenses you wear fit your eyes. The better the fit, the more comfortable your contact lenses will be. An improperly fit lens can cause permanent eye and vision damage.
During a contact lens exam, we check your eyes to determine their health. If they’re suitable for contact lenses, we will then take detailed measurements of the shape and size of your eye. With that information we will find a suitable pair of contact lenses that provides comfortable vision correction.

During the contact lens fitting we will provide you with in-depth information about handling, storing, and maintaining your contacts. We also will teach you how to properly insert and remove your contact lenses.
Contact lenses offer an alternative path to achieving the outcome provided by corrective lenses. Compared to eyeglasses, contact lenses are less maintenance and are comparable in overall price.
There is a type of contact for just about every prescription, and we offer scleral contact lenses for patients with high astigmatism, keratoconus, or dry eye.
While it is true that your eyes must undergo a brief adaptation period, ranging from a couple of days up to two weeks, most people quickly find contact lenses comfortable to wear. The first few times you insert/remove them it can be scary, but once you get the hang of it the process becomes routine.
Contact lenses aren’t suitable for everyone. Certain eye conditions prevent contacts from being worn. Moreover, some people simply don’t enjoy wearing contacts and switch back to glasses. We will work with you at all times to find the appropriate method of vision correction that’s best for you.
One of the defining characteristics of a contact lens is its wear and replacement schedule. Not all contact lenses are the same: some are designed to be discarded daily, while others are meant to be worn for days or even weeks at a time.
The most hygienic and easiest way to wear contact lenses is daily disposable lenses. These lenses are worn for a day and then discarded, so you don’t have to worry about ever wearing a dirty or damaged lens. For only about $0.45 per day more than a monthly disposable, you can experience the ultimate in contact lens comfort, care and cleanliness.
It is important to follow the wear/replacement schedule of your contacts. This ensures that your contacts remain comfortable, and that they are sanitary and healthy to wear. We will walk you through the wear/replacement schedule for the type of contact lens you choose.
Contact lenses can offer the same variety in prescription powers and types as eyeglasses. Wearers that require both close-up and distance vision correction can choose from several multifocal lenses.
We will advise you of our recommend contact lens after we have the results of the fitting exam.
With your prescription ready, we’ll provide you with a pair of diagnostic lenses as well as show you how to insert/remove them. If the diagnostic lenses are uncomfortable or do not provide adequate vision correction, we can find a new brand/type of lenses. It is not uncommon to try two or three different types of contact lenses until the ideal fit is found.

I've never had FUN selecting glasses before. The Eye Gallery team is fantastic--who knew that getting new glasses is better than shoe shopping?
Dr. Baldwin and her team are amazing. Megan is a top notch optometrist and her team is well-trained and professional. You won't find a better eye doctor in the Wichita area.
What an amazing experience. From the beautiful office, to the knowledgeable staff. The best part was how Dr. Baldwin actually listened to me and cared about the things that I cared about. I've had a lot of bad experiences with doctors in the past, but she dispelled them all in my first visit. I highly recommend to anyone.
I've been going to the The Eye Gallery for 2 years now and find Dr. Baldwin and her staff to be top notch. They are very easy to communicate with and offer excellent service.
